Acceptable Use Policy

01 Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to every User of the Arcnode Network Platform and to all Services, content, APIs, and infrastructure operated under the Arcnode brand. It applies alongside our Terms of Use, Community Guidelines, and Privacy Policy.

02 General principles

When using the Platform, you agree to:

• Use the Services lawfully and for their intended purpose.
• Respect the rights, safety, and privacy of other Users and of our team.
• Protect the security, integrity, and availability of the Platform.
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

03 Prohibited conduct

You must not use the Platform to:

• Abuse, harass, threaten, bully, or intimidate any person, including targeted or repeated unwanted contact.
• Publish or distribute hate speech, or content that promotes violence or discrimination against any individual or group on the basis of a protected characteristic.
• Share content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or sexually exploitative.
• Engage in fraud, deception, impersonation, or misrepresentation.
• Violate the privacy of others or publish personal data without a lawful basis.
• Facilitate any other illegal activity.

04 Security and unauthorized access

You must not:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, server, database, or network connected to the Platform.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Platform without our written permission.
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with authentication, rate limiting, or security controls.
• Access data or Services that are not intended for you.

05 Malware, phishing, and fraud

You must not use the Platform to:

• Upload, host, transmit, or link to malware, viruses, ransomware, or any other malicious code.
• Conduct phishing, social engineering, or credential-harvesting attacks.
• Operate scams, payment fraud, or other deceptive schemes.
• Distribute content designed to harm devices, software, or other Users.
• Upload files to the Client Portal whose content violates applicable law, infringes third-party intellectual property rights, or contains personal data of third parties for which you lack a lawful basis under the AVG / GDPR. Individual files must not exceed 500 MB.

06 Spam and platform manipulation

You must not:

• Send spam or unsolicited bulk messages through any channel we provide.
• Mass-register accounts, or create accounts using automated means without permission.
• Manipulate the Platform through fake engagement, vote manipulation, or coordinated inauthentic behavior.
• Use bots, scrapers, or crawlers in a way that breaches these rules or documented limits.
• Submit automated, duplicate, or deliberately misleading survey responses, or attempt to circumvent a survey's duplicate protection, rate limiting, or spam verification.
• Use a survey invitation link that was not addressed to you, or share a personal invitation link with others.
• Attempt to identify individual survey respondents from published aggregate results, or otherwise obtain respondent data you are not authorised to access.

07 Resource abuse

You must not:

• Place an unreasonable or disproportionate load on the Platform, including through denial-of-service attempts.
• Exceed documented API or usage limits, or attempt to evade them.
• Use the Services for cryptocurrency mining or similar resource-intensive abuse.
• Resell or redistribute access to the Services without authorisation.

08 Intellectual property

You must not infringe the intellectual property rights of Arcnode Network or any third party. This includes copying, distributing, or creating derivative works of our software, branding, or content without permission, and uploading content you do not have the right to share. Rights holders may report suspected infringement as described in section 11.

09 Arcnode Remote

Arcnode Remote gives one person access to another person's computer, so it has rules of its own. They add to the rest of this policy and to the Arcnode Remote Terms of Service and the Helper Code of Conduct.

9.1 Prohibited uses

You must not use Arcnode Remote to:

• Access a computer without authorization: connect to, or keep access to, a computer whose owner or user has not allowed it, or use a session for anything other than what the person agreed to.
• Run tech-support scams: contact people unasked to offer help, claim that their computer has a problem it doesn't have, or pose as Arcnode, Microsoft, a bank, an internet provider, an authority or anyone else.
• Coerce or deceive: pressure, rush, threaten or trick someone into allowing a session, more access, privacy mode, the camera or any-time access.
• Obtain money or credentials: ask for or move money, gift cards or crypto, or obtain passwords, bank codes or payment details, through or during a session.
• Spy or stalk: monitor, track or record a person, read their messages, or use Arcnode Remote as stalkerware or for covert surveillance, including of a partner, family member or employee without their knowledge.
• Bypass consent or privacy mode: get around, hide or disable the consent dialogs, the session banner, the control glow, the tray icon or other indicators; use privacy mode to hide what you do from the person; or approve your own requests on their behalf.
• Abuse any-time access: ask for it under false pretenses, use it beyond the purpose or limits the person set or after they asked you to stop, or share your account so others can use it.
• Distribute malware: send, install or run malware, spyware, remote access tools that hide themselves, or anything that gives others access, through file transfer or otherwise.
• Attack the relay or Backboard: guess or harvest session codes or relay ids, flood the relay with connections, interfere with other people's sessions, or test their security other than under our Security Policy.
• Evade helper access removal: create or use another account, someone else's account or a modified app to keep helping after your helper access was removed or your account was suspended.
• Use Arcnode Remote for anything else that is unlawful, including processing personal data you see without a lawful basis.

9.2 Reporting abuse of Arcnode Remote

If someone used Arcnode Remote against you, or you suspect a helper of misuse:

1. Select Disconnect now in the banner, or Disconnect session on the privacy screen (or press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + S while your screen is covered), and, if it is on, turn off any-time access in the tray icon or Settings.
2. If money or bank details may be involved, call your bank at once on the number you know, and report the scam to the police.
3. Email legal@arcnode.devwith the subject “Arcnode Remote abuse report”. Include the helper's name as shown in the app, the time and date, how they contacted you, and, if you can, a screenshot of the request (it shows the helper's device key).

We confirm receipt, look at every report, and can identify the Arcnode Account of a verified helper. We cannot see what happened in a session, because it is encrypted end to end, so your description matters. We may share what we know with the police on a lawful request.

9.3 Enforcement for Arcnode Remote

On top of the measures in section 10, we may remove helper access at once, suspend the helper's Arcnode Account, and refuse new accounts of the same person. We act without prior warning on credible reports of scams, unauthorized access, coercion or surveillance.

10 Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and take any action we consider appropriate, proportionate to the severity and context. Possible measures include:

• A warning for minor or first-time issues.
• Content removal or filtering of material that breaches this policy.
• Rate limiting or feature restriction to protect the Platform.
• Suspension or termination of your access for serious or repeated breaches.
• Referral to authorities where conduct is unlawful or threatens safety.

Where possible, include relevant details such as the Service involved, timestamps, and any supporting evidence so we can act quickly.
